01 Get Ready for the Superbadge

Introduction to Superbadges • Assessment Objectives
Recommended Learning • Prework • Use Case

Introduction to Superbadges

A SUPERBADGE is different from other Trailhead learning.
It is a HANDS-ON TECHNICAL SKILLS ASSESSMENT where you
take business requirements and apply your skills to build
something amazing — WITHOUT step-by-step guidance.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
• You receive business requirements, not instructions
• Recommended learning and Help articles are provided
as resources — use them!
• The estimated completion time assumes PRIOR experience
with the superbadge concepts
• You must complete prerequisite recommended learning
before attempting the challenges

Your hard work will pay off! Superbadges demonstrate
real-world, job-ready skills to employers.

Assessment Objectives

In this superbadge, you will demonstrate your ability to
perform three core Data 360 tasks:

1. CONFIGURE A DATA STREAM FROM A BUNDLE
Connect the standard Sales data stream bundle to bring
critical profile data into Data 360

2. CREATE A CUSTOM FORMULA FIELD
Build a formula field to consistently identify
international contacts versus domestic ones

3. ADD TO THE DATA MODEL OBJECT (DMO)
Map your custom field to the Account Contact DMO for
use in segmentation and targeted marketing

These three objectives mirror real-world Data 360 admin
tasks that you would perform in a production environment.

Recommended Learning

Before starting this superbadge, complete the recommended
prerequisite content. This provides the KNOWLEDGE BASE you
need to tackle the hands-on challenges.

KEY PREREQUISITE MODULE:
• Customer 360 Data Model for Data Cloud
Explore and use data model objects in Data Cloud (now
Data 360). Understanding DMOs, subject areas, and the
Customer 360 Data Model is ESSENTIAL for this superbadge.

The recommended learning is not optional — it is the
foundation. Superbadges assume you already have these
concepts mastered before you begin.

Prework and Notes

Before diving into the challenges, you need to set up
your environment and review key resources.

YOU NEED:
• A special Developer Edition org with Data 360 and
specific configuration for this superbadge
• This org is only available for a 2-DAY period — plan
to complete all challenges before it expires

The prework has three parts:
1. Sign up for the special Developer Edition org
2. Connect your new org to your Trailhead account
3. Review the Trailhead Challenge Help article

Each part is covered in detail on the following slides.

Use Case — Codey’s Den & Breakfast

Codey’s Den & Breakfast (CDB) is a popular travel
destination in the United States, attracting families
from all over the world.

What keeps guests coming back: CDB’s commitment to
HOSPITALITY CUSTOMIZED FOR EVERY VISITOR. The soft beds
and delicious pancakes bring them in; the personalized
service brings them back.

CDB is just getting started with Data 360 and is excited
about using it to ensure:

• COMPREHENSIVE GUEST PROFILES — consolidate guest data
from various sources into a single Customer 360 view
including booking history, preferences, feedback,
and interactions
• TARGETED MARKETING CAMPAIGNS — create customized
promotions based on guest preferences and behaviors.
International guests who prefer extended stays receive
tailored promotions for long-term visits.
• DATA-DRIVEN DECISION MAKING — identify trends and
patterns by analyzing guest data to invest wisely in
programs with the greatest impact

Your Mission at Codey’s Den & Breakfast

CDB is ready to implement a marketing strategy specifically
for INTERNATIONAL GUESTS. This will allow them to develop
services, amenities, and marketing initiatives appealing
to guests from other countries — such as specific dietary
options or cultural activities.

YOU are the Data 360 admin for CDB. Your task:

1. CONNECT the Sales data stream bundle to bring guest
profile data into Data 360
2. CREATE a custom formula field called International
Contact that identifies guests whose Mailing Country
is NOT the USA
3. ADD the International Contact field to the Account
Contact DMO for use in segmentation and targeted
marketing campaigns

Once completed, CDB will be able to efficiently and
effectively reach out to international guests — their
most important potential visitors — with customized
promotions and personalized experiences.

02 Connect the Sales Data Stream Bundle

Business Requirements • Sales Data Stream Bundle
Ingest Guest Profile Data into Data 360

Business Requirements

As the Data 360 admin for CDB, you are already equipped
with the knowledge to optimize guest experiences.

YOUR GOAL: Identify and consolidate INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS
into the CDB Customer 360 data model. This helps the
company provide personalized services and more memorable
experiences tailored to the unique preferences and needs
of diverse, global guests.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT:
• Use DATA STREAMS to consolidate and analyze guest data
• Enable dynamic updates to guest profiles so all
interactions and preferences stay current
• Build a comprehensive view of each traveler for
personalized service and timely communications

The first step is connecting the Sales data stream bundle
to bring critical profile data into Data 360.

Connect the Sales Data Stream Bundle

Before CDB can receive data into Data 360, its data streams
need to be properly CONFIGURED.

PREREQUISITE: The Salesforce Platform admin team has already
enabled Data 360 in the org with the standard bundles for
Sales and Service.

YOUR TASK: Make sure the standard Sales data bundle is
CONNECTED so critical profile data flows into Data 360
and integrates seamlessly with other data streams.

The Sales Data Stream Bundle focuses on PROFILE DATA,
helping CDB collect, analyze, and use guest-related
information to optimize operations and enhance experiences.

IMPORTANT: Data streams usually ingest sample records
quickly, but occasionally the Last Run Status may take
up to 15 minutes to show “Success.” Wait for completion
before starting the next challenge.

With the Sales bundle connected, CDB can now use data
effectively to anticipate guest needs and cater to
visitors from all over the world.

03 Create a Custom Formula

Custom Formula Fields • Identify International Contacts
Mailing Country ≠ USA • Field Label: International Contact

Create a Custom Formula

Now that the data streams are ready, implement a way to
CONSISTENTLY IDENTIFY international contacts.

YOUR TASK: Create a FORMULA FIELD that distinguishes
international guests from domestic ones.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Data Stream: Contact Data Stream (from the Sales bundle)
• Field Label: International Contact
• Logic: Return TRUE if the contact’s Mailing Country
is NOT USA
• Tip: If you get stuck, check the Help article for
suggested formulas

WHY THIS MATTERS:
• Enables CDB to TAILOR communication based on geography
• Helps ANTICIPATE language preferences
• Allows consideration of CULTURAL factors in messaging
• Becomes a reusable field for segmentation and campaigns

Once created, test your formula to make sure it returns
the expected results for both US and non-US countries.
CDB’s guest data is now becoming more and more useful.

04 Add to the Data Model Object

Map Custom Fields to DMOs • Account Contact DMO
Enable Segmentation for Targeted Campaigns

Add to the Data Model Object

It is time to PUT IT ALL TOGETHER. CDB plans to create
an email campaign targeting international guests as part
of its marketing strategy.

YOUR TASK: Add the International Contact field from the
CDB contact data stream to the Account Contact DMO for
use in Data 360.

SPECIFICATIONS:
• Field Label: International Contact
• API Name: International_Contact
• Usage: This field will be used to segment the guest
database and create targeted marketing campaigns for
international travelers

WHY THIS MATTERS:
• The formula field exists in the DLO but is not usable
for segmentation until mapped to a DMO
• Mapping to Account Contact DMO makes International
Contact available as a filter criterion in segments
• This is the final step that connects raw data →
transformation → data model → business use

Now CDB can quickly and consistently identify international
guests, ensuring more accurate, efficient, and personalized
communication and service. This enhances the overall guest
experience and fosters long-term loyalty.

Sum It Up

As Data 360 admin for Codey’s Den & Breakfast, you have
laid the FOUNDATION for data-driven guest personalization.

WHAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED:
• Connected the Sales data stream bundle → guest profile
data now flows into Data 360
• Created the International Contact formula field →
consistent identification of international vs. domestic
guests based on Mailing Country ≠ USA
• Added International Contact to the Account Contact
DMO → field is now usable for segmentation and
targeted campaigns

WHAT IS POSSIBLE NEXT:
• Map more fields and bring together data from more sources
• Use historical data to visualize preferences and trends
among international travelers
• Develop special packages and offers customized for
long-stay guests
• Personalize email campaigns and mobile app notifications
to promote tailored offers

The possibilities are ENDLESS. CDB is doubling down on its
success by investing in ways to make better use of guest
information — powered by Data 360.
