1. Sign Up for a Developer Edition Org with Agentforce

  1. Sign up for a free [Developer Edition org with Agentforce](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/promo/orgs/agentforce-for-trailhead).
    • Email: enter an active email address.
    • Username: enter a unique username that looks like an email address (for example, yourname@example.com).
    • Click Sign me up.
    • Open the activation email (may take a few minutes) and click Verify Account.
    • Set your password and challenge question.
  2. Connect the org to Trailhead:
    • Make sure you're logged in to your Trailhead account.
    • In the Challenge section, click the org name and click Connect Org.
    • Enter the username and password for the Developer Edition.
    • On the Allow Access? screen, click Allow.
    • On the connect-for-hands-on-challenges screen, click Yes! Save it.
  3. (Optional) Rename the org:
    • In the Verify Step section, click the playground name and click Manage Orgs.
    • Click Rename, enter Agentforce Grid Org, and click Save.
    • Close the page, ensure Agentforce Grid Org is selected, and click X to close the popup.
    • Click Launch to open the org.

2. Get the Org Ready for Agentforce Grid

  1. Click Setup and select Setup.
  2. In the Setup Quick Find, search for and select Salesforce Go.
  3. In the Search features... textbox, enter and select Agentforce Studio.
  4. Click Get Started.
  5. Click Turn On then click Turn On again.

3. Check the Permissions

  1. Confirm you have the Manage Agentforce Grids system permission (already assigned in this org).
  2. Click Check Challenge to Earn 500 Points in the Challenge section.

4. Create a Grid

  1. Open the App Launcher.
  2. Search for and select Agentforce Grid.
  3. Click Create Grid.
  4. For Grid Name, enter Account Summary.
  5. For Description, enter Generate account summaries and populate the Account Description with the information.
  6. Click Create.

5. Import Salesforce Data (Account Column)

  1. Click Add Column and select Import Salesforce.
  2. Highlight Salesforce and change the title to Account.
  3. Open the One Result Per Row popup and enter 10 in the Max Results field. Close the popup.
  4. Leave Query Mode as Object.
  5. For Object Type, click Select an object and select Account.
  6. Click Fields to review Available and Selected Fields.
  7. Review the Filters area (opened automatically).
  8. Click Save and Run.
  9. Click inside the first account column (not the link) to open the right pane.
  10. Navigate to the Id field and select + Column.

6. Apply a Prompt Template (Summary Column)

  1. Click Add Column and select Prompt Template.
  2. Update the title to Summary.
  3. For Prompt Template, select Account Summary.
  4. Under Template Variables, for objectToSummarize, enter @ and select Account.
  5. Click outside the box.
  6. Click Save and Run.
  7. Click the new Summary field in the first row to open the Output Preview.
  8. Click the JSON tab to display the output.
  9. Click + Column for the content field.

7. Use AI to Convert to Markdown (Markup Column)

  1. Click Add Column and select Use AI.
  2. Update the Title to Markup.
  3. For Model, select GPT 5.
  4. For LLM Instructions, enter the prompt that converts an HTML string to markdown.
  5. After string:, enter @, then select Summary.content from Search columns.
  6. Verify Plain Text is selected in Response Format.
  7. Click Save and Run.

8. Update the Account Description (Update Description Column)

  1. Click Add Column and select Update Record.
  2. Update the Title to Update Description.
  3. For Object Type, select Account.
  4. For Object Field, select Account Description.
  5. For Enter a value, enter @ and select Markup.
  6. Click Save and Run.

9. Review the Updated Description

  1. From the App Launcher, search for and select Sales.
  2. Click the Accounts tab.
  3. Click an account.
  4. Click the Details tab and confirm the Description field includes the summary from Agentforce Grid.
